Boat Operator Rules

Riding the Waves-TC in Stuart, Florida, wants you to have a wonderful time. However, we also want to make sure you are safe. That's why all boat operators must meet all of the following requirements and rules.

Age Requirements

All boat operators must be a minimum of 18 years old. Any boat operator born after January 1, 1988 must have a Florida-issued Safe Boating Card or other NASBLA approved Safe Boating Card. If you do not have a safety card, you can take the free online course at BoatUS.com. The course is free, simple and easy; even if you’ve been manning watercraft for years, it's always a good idea to take a refresher course. We like to combine safety and fun, and it’s our job to ensure you have a safe and happy journey. Boat operators must produce, at the time of the tour, either a state-issued driver's license or other state-issued ID that clearly shows date of birth.

Liabilities

Boat operators must bring a major credit card. This is because you are responsible for any damage done to boats due to improper or unsafe boat handling. Boat operators must sign our standard Liability & Use Release upon arrival.

Switching Drivers

Each boat has two seats, one for the operator and one for the passenger. During the course of the tour, you will be provided with an opportunity to switch seats if the initial passenger is over the age of 18 and wants an opportunity to take control of the boat and assume the position of operator. Whether you drive or sit back and enjoy the water, its great fun and something you’ll definitely remember.
